AONDevices has launched the AONix™ Edge AI Sensor Module, a 32mm x 32mm platform for battery-operated edge AIoT applications. Developed with P-Logic Consulting and using sensor integration from InvenSense, a TDK group company, the module addresses power consumption and integration requirements for edge AI deployment.
The AONix Sensor Module uses the AON11xx processor family for edge AI processing, combined with P-Logic’s hardware architecture. The module incorporates TDK’s MEMS sensors, including a digital microphone and IMU for acoustic and motion sensing. Additional configurations include environmental sensors, an optical heart rate monitor, LCD display, and speaker.
The module’s technical specifications include edge AI inference capabilities for voice activation, pattern recognition, event detection, and motion detection. It integrates multiple sensors for data fusion and includes Wi-Fi, BLE, and Matter protocols for IoT connectivity. The battery management system includes protection against overcharging, over-discharging, and thermal issues. Development support comes through the AONx360™ ML platform for model development and deployment.
The module serves applications in healthcare and eldercare with fall detection and voice-activated response systems. Smart home security applications include acoustic event detection and environmental monitoring. For industrial IoT, the module enables equipment condition monitoring. Environmental applications include temperature, humidity, air pressure, and gas level monitoring in portable configurations.
The AONix Edge AI Sensor Module is designed for integration into battery-operated devices across consumer electronics, including wearables and hearables, smart home automation systems, and industrial monitoring equipment. The platform provides AI processing capabilities while maintaining power efficiency for battery-powered operation.
