Wot.io, a data service exchange for connected device platforms, announced a strategic partnership with ARM aimed at streamlining and accelerating IoT implementation and monetization by allowing devices to connect and share regardless of device, standards, or connectivity. The wot.io environment is a public-private cloud operating environment that allows immediate access to all mbed services plus the integration of non-mbed devices to connect to mbed devices. “We are network and partner agnostic,” said wot.io COO and co-founder, Mike Jeronis, “The Internet of Things needs to be about everything. It can’t be IoT until it deals easily with everything out there. It needs to be agnostic.”
Honestly, I don’t really know much about ARM and its mbed OS. But based on what you mentioned that it is designed to reduce energy consumption (low power energy), I feel that this surely is something that would benefit the IT industry and business in general. Not only would companies be able to save on energy costs, they also would be able to maximize the features of this operating system. I will be reading more about ARM and mbed OS for additional learning. Thanks.
