Autonomous vehicle sensing on a budget

CalmCar Vision Systems is a Chinese company that recently set up operations in the Detroit area. Its claim to fame is an AV sensor system that it says is much less expensive than alternatives. It includes front and surround-view cameras, radar, blind spot cameras, and an in-car data acquisition system that does object detection, classification, tracking, and so forth. CalmCar says it has proprietary algorithms for various ADAS features. It uses parameter compression techniques to run all this on a computer with limited resources.
