IoT Wireless I/O module works without a gateway

April 12, 2016 By Abby Esposito Leave a Comment

advantAdvantech’s Industrial Automation Group is pleased to announce the WISE-4012 wireless Ethernet I/O module which can be used without the need for a gateway.  This means that deployment is much easier due to a limitless number of I/O modules that can be used to gather data from any third party analog sensor and connect to an existing network.

With integrated analog and digital input in the same channel, the WISE-4012 provides a flexible combination of I/O to acquire different kinds of signals.  The WISE-4012 can also output the engineering or physical value as sensor input using a scaling function making the data more readable for further data analysis.  The WISE-4012 has a high resolution, high accuracy, and isolation protection so it can provide high quality data for smart factories and smart city data acquisition solutions.

With the addition of the WISE-4012, Advantech provides a complete wireless I/O solution which includes analog and digital signal modules.   These WISE modules combine data acquisition, processing, and publishing into a single I/O module.

Advantech’s WISE-4000 Data Logger can send time-stamped information to a Dropbox account or a private cloud and buffer devices data so that in the event of network failure, no data is lost before it is sent to the administrator.  The new private server function allows the WISE-4000 series to push data to a specific web server by the RESTful web service which helps the system reduce the effort of acquiring big data.
