Tiny crystal oscillators target satellite, spacecraft applications

October 22, 2019 By Lee Teschler Leave a Comment

The QT723 and QT735 Series of space-qualified crystal oscillators offer satellite and spacecraft designers exceptional performance in the industry’s smallest surface-mount packages. These New Space, Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) oscillators are 50kRad(Si) total dose ionization radiation hardened, high shock (20,000 g) resistant and screened per MIL-PRF-55310, Level B with PIND.

The 2.5×3.2-mm QT723 Series offers models with user-prescribed 1.500 to 250 MHz, tri-state CMOS q tech oscoutputs powered by an input voltage of 1.8, 2.5 or 3.3 Vdc. The QT735 Series, in a slightly larger (3.2×5.0 mm) package, is offered in CMOS, LVDS and LVPECL versions with input voltages up to 5.0 Vdc and selectable frequencies from 1.000 to 250 MHz.

“These two new series of New Space crystal oscillators are answering the need of aerospace system designers for footprint-saving devices, as they work to pack more functionality into their new LEO systems,” said Scott Sentz, Q-Tech’s Director of Sales and Marketing. “We are applying our 35-plus years of knowledge, experience and space heritage to deliver this new generation of application-optimized devices.”

Availability: Now
Delivery: 8-10 weeks (Engineering models w/o MIL-PRF screening)
12-14 weeks (Flight models with MIL-PRF screening)
Price: Consult factory (dependent on package, frequency and screening level)
