Dual-interface microprocessor smart cards feature security countermeasures, high capacities

March 8, 2017 By Aimee Kalnoskas Leave a Comment

CardLogix smart card manufacturer and software developer announced the newest addition to its flagship M.O.S.T. Card C Series, M.O.S.T. Card C9.  The M.O.S.T. Card C9 dual-interface microprocessor smart card is built on a single, CC EAL5+ certified silicon, computer chip that communicates to both contact and contactless readers to enable the widest range of card applications.

Powered by CardLogix’ intellectual property, M.O.S.T. Card Operating System, the cards feature advanced security countermeasures, high capacity user memory (up to 162k bytes), and the most comprehensive suite of development, enrollment, and issuance tools to accelerate ID system deployments. M.O.S.T. Cards leverage security features typically found in PKI-enabled smart cards, such as Transport Keys and HMAC eSignatures, with prices up to 70% less.

“M.O.S.T. Card C9 combines the speed and convenience of contactless cards in payment, transportation, and physical access applications with the high-security assurance of card insertion in extended-session identity applications such as cyber access control and secure messaging,” said Tom Hope, Director of Sales at CardLogix. “The cards also integrate smoothly into existing NFC physical access systems with user-configurable UIDs.”

M.O.S.T. Card C Series are ideal for converged, multi-application credentials such as National ID Cards with stored biometrics, eSignatures, EHRs (Electronic Health Records), and stored value with advanced session keys.  The cards feature MRTD encryption routines that conform to ICAO and EU Driver License specifications, making them perfect for ID-1 ICAO certified Border Crossing Cards and European Driver Licenses.

Compliance to Highest Security and Industry Standards

  • ISO 14443 A parts 1-3 (NFC) and ISO 7816 parts 1-4
  • FIPS 197 Advanced Encryption Standard
  • FIPS 198-1 HMAC SHA-256 eSignatures
  • ISO/IEC 9834-8 Global Unique Identifier – GUID (16 bytes)
  • Global Password with PIN-PUK & block/unblock features
  • Post-Issuance Injectable AES Keys with Admin Password
  • Virtualization of data across the non-volatile memory

CardLogix M.O.S.T. Toolz™ and Winplex® API support the easy configuration and integration of M.O.S.T. Cards into existing or new system infrastructures. Multiple source code examples and demonstration consoles simplify the creation of advanced card applications.
