ICS/Blackberry QNX targets safety-critical medical, industrial apps

March 7, 2019 By Aimee Kalnoskas Leave a Comment

ICS/Blackberry QNXIntegrated Computer Solutions, Inc. (ICS) announced that it will offer BlackBerry’s QNX software and services to its broad embedded customer base in the Americas. ICS joins the BlackBerry QNX Distributor & Value-Added Integrator (VAI) Program, a worldwide network of value-added integrators and distributors, and reseller experts trained on QNX technologies.

Under the agreement, ICS will resell BlackBerry QNX products and services, including the popular QNX Neutrino RTOS, QNX OS for Safety and QNX OS for Medical. This, combined with its unparalleled Qt expertise, will enable ICS to build upon BlackBerry QNX’s embedded technologies, provide integration services and design, and develop ssafety-critical solutions for ICS’ customers in the highly regulated medical device and Industrial IoT markets.

As the largest Qt service and training partner in North America, ICS’ team of engineers and software developers has developed countless modern user interfaces, connected products and touchscreen-enabled applications for global companies like Ford, Panasonic, Thermo Fisher Scientific, ZOLL Medical and Boeing – everything from agriculture equipment, defibrillators and commercial kitchen appliances to air traffic control and in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) systems. In 2018, ICS launched its user experience design division, Boston UX, which specializes in intuitive interface design for touch- and voice-powered smart devices. This combination of QNX, Qt and UX design expertise allows ICS to offer full product development solutions from UX design and platform selection to software development and delivery.

The Channel Partner Program allows partners to deliver integration services and build upon BlackBerry QNX’s embedded technologies to design and develop secure, mission-critical solutions – ultimately accelerating product time to market.
