I/O carrier cards handle VPX, XMC, PCI Express duties

April 3, 2017 By Aimee Kalnoskas Leave a Comment

Acromag expands their tech-refresh design of the AcroPack Series to include a superb selection of I/O carrier cards. The AcroPack carriers come equipped with up to four AcroPack or mini-PCIe mezzanine module slots to offer maximum I/O density in VPX, XMC and PCI Express based systems. AcroPack carriers offer a unique secure plug-in connection to the I/O boards eliminating the customary flimsy cable connection.

AcroPack PCIe-based general purpose I/O modules, when used with an AcroPack carrier card, adds A/D, D/A, digital I/O, serial and FPGA communication in any combination for embedded applications running on Linux®, Windows®, or VxWorks® operating systems.

For easy integration of the AP modules with real-time software application programs, Acromag offers C libraries for VxWorks® and other operating systems. The libraries provide generic routines (source code included) to handle reads, writes, interrupts, and other functions. Demonstration programs enable the developer to quickly exercise the I/O modules before attaching the routines to the application program. This diagnostic tool can save hours of troubleshooting and debugging.

“For more than 20 years Acromag has been a world leader in the design of Industry Pack I/O modules,” stated Russell Nieves, Acromag’s Director of Embedded sales. “We believe that the time is right to offer a complete tech refresh with the addition of the new AcroPack I/O product offering.”
