Four-channel IC delivers 500mA per port with 125°C rating

October 22, 2024 By Redding Traiger Leave a Comment

Renesas Electronics Corporation has introduced two new semiconductor solutions for the IO-Link market: the CCE4511 four-channel IO-Link master IC and the ZSSC3286 IO-Link ready dual-channel resistive sensor signal conditioner IC.

IO-Link, a digital communication protocol used in industrial automation, enables communication between sensors, actuators, and other automation system devices. The technology provides real-time data, diagnostics, reduced wiring requirements, and remote configuration capabilities. According to Infogence Global Research, the IO-Link market is projected to reach USD 34B in 2028, growing at over 20 percent annually.

The CCE4511 four-channel master IC features a 500mA driving current per channel and includes an integrated IO-Link Frame Handler to reduce microcontroller loads. The device operates in temperatures up to 125º C and includes overvoltage detection and over-current protection. It supports the detection of ready pulses from IO-Link devices, meeting requirements for the IO-Link Safety System Extension.

The ZSSC3286 dual path sensor signal conditioning IC enables accurate amplification, digitization, and correction of sensor signals. It includes an integrated IO-Link stack supporting the IO-Link Smart Sensor Profile for digital measuring and switching sensors. The device processes sensor data through a 32-bit Arm-based mathcore and features two parallel ADCs with up to 24-bit resolution.

Both products are currently available. The CCE4511 comes in an 8mm x 8mm 56-QFN package, while the ZSSC3286 is offered in a 5mm x 5mm 40-QFN package and Wafer-Level Chip-Scale Package format. Evaluation kits for both devices can be purchased through Renesas and authorized distributor.
