Next-gen MCUs target factories, homes, and connected infrastructure

March 9, 2026 By Puja Mitra Leave a Comment

The STM32C5 microcontrollers from STMicroelectronics are entry-level MCUs built on an Arm Cortex-M33 core and manufactured using a 40 nm process, offering up to 1 MB Flash memory and integrated security features including AES encryption, hashing and memory protection. The devices support applications such as smart thermostats, electronic locks, industrial sensors, robotic actuators and wearable electronics and operate across temperatures from −40 °C to 125 °C. Available in packages from 3 mm × 3 mm UFQFPN20 to 20 mm × 20 mm LQFP144, the MCUs are supported by the STM32Cube development ecosystem including STM32CubeMX2 tools and STM32 Nucleo evaluation boards.
