Another facility made possible via the new 5.1 Bluetooth spec is super-accurate proximity sensing. Dialog collaborates with another company to deliver this particular attribute. The demo of it involved the DA14695 BLE development kit seen here, outfitted with an LCD module that read out the distance to a nearby Bluetooth transmitter, in this case, 1.5 m away. The USB cable went to a smartphone which served as a power source for the dev board.
