The 2019 Robotics Summit in Boston on June 5th and 6th is a premier robotics event focused on the design, development, manufacture, and delivery of commercial robotics. The Summit is co-located with the DeviceTalks event at the Seaport World Trade Center.
Critical technical challenges remain when designing electronics for robotics systems particularly in the context of factory floor connectivity and IoT. These include simple integration with standardized interfaces, effective management of high-bandwidth sensor data, and security optimization. Suppliers are meeting these challenges head-on and introducing components, systems, and subsystems designed to provide solutions that enable the robotics industry to evolve more rapidly into next-generation machines — and many with the aid of AI.
Deepu Talla VP and GM, Autonomous Machines, NVIDIA is one of the six keynote presenters over the two-day summit who will address the promise and prospects for robotics in his presentation, “Bringing AI-Powered Robots to Life”.
NVIDIA has been at the forefront of robotics research and the AI engines and platforms that make robots “smarter”. NVIDIA’s Jetson AI platform for autonomous products includes an ecosystem comprised of companies offering products and services such as AI software, hardware, and application design services, sensors and peripherals and more that work with the Jetson platform. Check out the latest product from Jetson ecosystem member D3 Engineering.
AWS – Booth #200 — All that robot-generated sensor data has to go somewhere, right? The Amazon Web Services cloud platform offers over 165 fully featured services from data centers globally. Startups, large enterprises, and leading government agencies are engaged with AWS to power their infrastructure, become more agile, and lower costs. Roger Barga, General Manager, AWS Robotics and Autonomous Services, Amazon Web Services will also be presenting a keynote on June 5th right after NVIDIA’s Talla titled, “The Role of the Cloud in the Future of Robotics”. Oh, did you know you can sign up for a free AWS account?
Harwin – Booth #238 — Stop here not only to make connections but to see connections in action. The unique Vivern connector which we covered here is a circular sensor connector with IP67 sealing rating, ideal for use in the high-impact environments robots “live” and work in. Check out the latest versions of Harwin’s popular super-compact Gecko Screw-Lok — the Gecko-SL range. Mildly curious about where the name “Harwin” comes from? Listen to our podcast interview with Harwin’s CEO Damon de Laszlo and learn that little tidbit and much more about this Renaissance man.
Performance Motion Devices – Booth #145 — Step into this booth and discover a bit more about high-performance motion control on an IC. PMD pairs IC packaging with PC-based motion control to offer PLC-type functions on an IC. Their products include positioning and motion control ICs, digital amplifiers and drives, and motor control boards all with C-based source code built in.
Sunstone Circuits – Booth #224 — PCB prototyping and manufacturing is becoming increasingly sophisticated and faster with an emphasis on better services and accuracy of delivery. Learn more from the folks at Sunstone about PCBs, prototypes through production, standard FR-4 through high-performance RF/Micro substrates and very fine pitch geometries.
