Gallery: Embedded World 2018 — Living the dream at the Edge

March 15, 2018 By Aimee Kalnoskas

From the world of hype to the Embedded World of “real” things, last month in Nuremberg was where the IoT rubber met the road. Displays of smart maEmbedded World 2018nufacturing, smart home, autonomous vehicles seemed like more of a backdrop than eye candy. What embedded design engineers were looking for at Embedded World 2018 was a different kind of eye candy and vendors did their best to deliver: intelligent-edge processors, out-of-the-box IoT development platforms, integrated device security, simplified connectivity options, and the other stuff IoT design dreams are made of. The mood was upbeat to the point where one supplier said, “We are living the dream. Anyone who isn’t happy in this market should probably get out of it.” Here is just a sampling of the offerings that seemed to best capture that mood.
